Make It Groove/Make It Swing

Welcome to the Groove/Swing course!
One of our jobs as a drummer is to make the music feel good. I’ll be applying some foundational elements of my technique course, especially where fluid, natural motion is concerned, and applying them to 1/8 and 16th grooves and swing feels, all in an attempt to work toward playing musically.
A great way to practice? Head over to the Play Along area of the school where you'll find two great play along packages:
"Just Groove Me" : the rock/funk tune featuring Dave, Oz Noy, and Will Lee
"Twelvin" : the Elvin Jones-inspired 12/8 tune from Dave and Jay Oliver's Convergence release
Both of the tunes include the original tunes, a chart, a play along version (minus drums), and a video of Dave's session!
Your Instructor
For more than 35 years, Dave Weckl has developed and maintained a reputation among fans, peers, and the international music community, as one of the great living drummers. His contributions to iconic music, music education, and the gear that drummers use, are many. Modern Drummer magazine has inducted Weckl into their Hall of Fame (2000) and named him "one of the 25 best drummers of all time."
